Several Activision and Capcom Marvel titles no longer available.
Activision has confirmed what was rumored back in December, multiple Marvel Comics game licensing agreements have expired and are not expected to renewed. As a result, games such as 'Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3,' 'Deadpool,' 'Spider-Man: Web of Shadows,' and 'X-Men: Origins: Wolverine,' have been pulled from Xbox Live and PSN.
As is normal in such cases, those who already own those digital titles will continue to be able to download and play them. In this case, both Capcom and Activision are proceeding as though the expired licenses will not be renewed any time in near future. Since Marvel is owned by Disney, the moves suggest a possible new strategy for Marvel game licensing that echoes both recent Disney and Star Wars property moves.
For those asking about it: Marvel Activision titles are no longer available for digital download. https://t.co/pabtJkcDnL Hence the sale!
