The 16" speakers boast frequency response as low as 41Hz.
The folks over at Atlantic have put their H-PAS technology into a pair of bookshelf speakers that are able to produce distortion free bass at frequencies down to 41Hz. That's a good chunk lower than most other speakers of the same size and specs.
Atlantic's AT-2 utilizes a 5-1/4" long-excursion woofer and a 1-1/8" tweeter to reproduce the highs and lows. The tweeter is the same one you'll find in the AT-1 and has a crossover frequency of 2,200Hz.
Atlantic Technology president, Peter Tribeman says that the H-PAS algorithm has worked remarkably well in adaptation to the smaller AT-2. He adds, "These new bookshelf speakers are going to have lots of people looking futilely for a hidden subwoofer."
The AT-2 is available now at $1,800 a pair.
