Buffalo Japan Announces a Portable 3D Blu-ray Drive
Thu Sep 02, 2010 at 10:00 AM ETTags: 3D, Blu-ray Drives (all tags)
If you're the type of guy who wants a 3D Blu-ray drive everywhere you are, Buffalo's got your hook up, Daddy-O!
It's difficult to conceive of a reason that someone would need a portable 3D Blu-ray drive, especially this early in the game. Maybe you and a friend both have 3D monitors for your computers and love taking the single 3D Blu-ray you own back and forth to each other's houses? Whatever the reason, a portable 3D Blu-ray drive exists for you to enjoy.
According to the Japanese press release, you'll be able to enjoy your 3D Blu-rays with the included PowerDVD 9 software, which also allows 2D to 3D conversion of movies. You'll still need compatible equipment in terms of your monitor, computer and glasses, of course.
The BP3D-PI6U2-BK will be on shelves in Japan later this month for a price equivalent to $337. There's no word on a US release, but there's no reason not to expect it.
