New trailer somewhat shy on gameplay and Australian accents.
'Mad Max' and 'Just Cause' developer Avalanche Studios promised the first gameplay footage of the new 'Mad Max' game, and has now delivered, sort of. In contrast to the game's first teaser, the new trailer shows some 'Mad Max' vehicles in motion, but stops short of anything too much like actual gameplay.
Likewise, the new trailer is particularly devoid of an Australian accents, something that the studio was recently forced to reverse course on. After announcing that the game would not be using any Australian voice acting, including the title character, the resulting uproar motivated the studio and its Warner Bros' publisher to promise that there would be Australian accents for the game.
While 'Mad Max' is being billed as an open-world title along the lines of 'Just Cause 2,' it is not Avalanche Studios only project. Time will tell if Avalanche managed to balance talent between its own ip and this licensed title or if there is in fact a large diparity.
'Mad Max' is due out sometime in 2014 for the Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, and PC and is available to pre-order.
