Amazon Bundles $499 PS3 with Free Remote and 'Memento' Blu-ray

Hot on the heels of Sony's $100 price cut on the PlayStation 3, Amazon is offering one heck of a bundle for prospective Blu-ray fans.
For a limited time, consumers buying the PS3 at Amazon will also receive the PlayStation 3 Blu-ray Remote control and a copy of the cult favorite 'Memento' on Blu-ray disc, both free of charge.
Combined with the Blu-ray Disc Association's recently-announced "Five Free Discs" offer, all of the free gear amounts to over $200 in value.
With 'Memento' already topping Amazon's Blu-ray sales charts as of late Tuesday, it would seem that this is a deal that a good number of consumers are finding hard to pass up. Since Monday's price cut, the PS3 itself has also shot up the Amazon sales ranks, from #26 in Video Games to #1 (the bundled remote is #2).
This latest offer from Amazon comes amidst a summer season that's been jam-packed with price-cuts and free disc bundles on both sides of the high-def format war. With player prices down by over 50% since this time last year (to a low of $299 for HD DVD and $499 for Blu-ray), there's never been a better time to make the leap to high-def disc.
