The classic 1940 John Ford drama will make its high-definition debut in April.

In their latest press release, Screen Archives has revealed 20th Century Fox's 'The Grapes of Wrath' is coming to Blu-ray on April 3.

The film was nominated for seven Academy Awards and won for best actress (Jane Darell) and Best Director (Ford).

Following a prison term he served for manslaughter, Tom Joad returns to find his family homestead overwhelmed by weather and the greed of the banking industry. With little work potential on the horizon of the Oklahoma dust bowls, the entire family packs up and heads for the promised land - California. But the arduous trip and harsh living conditions they encounter offer little hope, and family unity proves as daunting a challenge as any other they face.

The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio Mono soundtrack, and supplements include Commentary by Joseph McBride (Film Scholar) and Susan Shilllinglaw (John Steinbeck Scholar), Fox Movie Channel presents Fox Legacy with Tom Rothman, Darryl F. Zanuck: 20th Century Filmmaker, Fox Movietone News, and a theatrical trailer.

'The Grapes of Wrath' is available here from Screen Archives Entertainment for $29.95.
