Videogame Releases: Week of September 25th, 2011

Do you like sports, outdoorsy things and guns? Well, this week is full of videogames like that. There’s also an X-Men game of questionable character for us nerds.

FIFA 12 (360, 3DS, PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii)
Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 (360, PS3)

Are you a soccer fan? In that case, I’m not going to insult you by pretending that I know a thing about which of these games is more accurate or better, or what features make each exciting and new. In both games, you kick the ball down the field and, if I understand correctly, neither lets you headbutt other players.

Cabela’s Big Game Hunter (Wii)

Just in time for hunting season comes a hunting simulator that almost certainly fails to mimic the feel of shooting a real gun. Until somebody releases a ‘Fantasy Hunts’ version of the game where I can stalk and kill a unicorn, I’m not buying.

X-Men Destiny (360, DS, PS3, Wii)

Here we have an action RPG from the guys who brought us the underwhelming ‘Too Human’. I can’t imagine that ‘X-Men Destiny’ is anything amazing, but it looks like it’s worth a rental. It may be something to tide over Marvel fans until a new ‘Ultimate Alliance’ game gets announced.
