Even with E3 only a week away, several promising new videogame franchises launch this week. Plus, we get a long-awaited update to the world’s premiere fighter.

Murdered: Soul Suspect (PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360, PC)

‘Murdered: Souls Suspect‘ lets a player take on the classic trope of investigating his own murder. Set in the already spooky world of Salem, it’s likely that we’ll find much more to the game than the murder of a single detective.

Ultra Street Fighter IV (360, PS3)

The fourth and likely final iteration of Capcom’s much loved ‘Street Fighter IV’, called ‘Ultra Street Fighter IV‘, adds a few new fighters, including Rolento, Poison, Elena, Hugo and the all-new Decapre. This week sees only a downloadable update for ‘Super Street Fighter IV’ and ‘Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition’, but a standalone disc version and a PC version are promised for August.

Tomodachi Life (3DS)

Already a massive hit in Japan as the ‘Tomodachi Collection’, ‘Tomodachi Life‘ looks to take all those Miis that users have made for years, then add voices and accessories. From there, the Miis are dumped on an island where they interact to make stories along the lines of ‘The Sims’ or ‘Animal Crossing’.

Worms Battlegrounds (Xbox One, PS4)

The ‘Worms’ franchise continues its classic presentation of war at its most worm-like. ‘Worms Battlegrounds‘ not only sees the franchise jump to the new consoles, but also adds co-op and online modes to augment the addictive gameplay.
