The Steam Summer Sale

You’ve got until July 4th to take advantage of some of the best deals in PC gaming, including new discounts daily. So get on it!

The great thing about the good people working at Steam is that they understand how digital distribution is supposed to work. They know the plan, and even better, they follow through on it.

Until the 4th of July you can pick up PC games at absolutely ludicrous prices. Take the 2K Games pack for example. It consists of every title available on steam from 2K Games, including ‘BioShock,’ ‘BioShock 2,’ ‘Borderlands’ and all its expansions, ‘Civilization IV’ and all its expansions, and the ‘X-Com’ games. All that and more comes in at $89. That’s a 75% discount from the regular price of all the games in the pack.

You’ll find similar discounts on the ‘Star Wars’ games, the ‘Call of Duty’ collection, and of course everything made by Valve. It’s a great setup and there’s absolutely no reason not to take advantage of it.

Even cooler – there’s a special discount every day. On Wednesday, for example, there were huge discounts on games like ‘Torchlight,’ ‘Mass Effect 2,’ and ‘Red Faction: Guerilla.”

There are a few hundred games on sale. Some of them are discounted as far as 90%. If you’ve been waiting for a good time to check out titles like ‘The Witcher,’ ‘Sacred,’ or even ‘Ghostbusters,’ now’s the time!

I picked up Mass Effect for just under 7 bones last week. Only complaint is that it’s definitely a console game ported to pc, so the mouse and keyboard interface just seems clunky, will probably invest in a decent controller for this one … also for Ghostbusters.
