Monster Madness: Vermithrax vs. Xenomorph Queen – Killer Rabbit vs. Bat Gremlin

In last week’s Monster Madness battle, the demonic Balrog proved too much for the mysterious Mist Walker. Meanwhile, we also found out that even the Devil himself can be beat when a master hunter like the Predator is lurking about. Today, we’ll see how dragons fair against aliens and whether the Killer Rabbit has the teeth to move deeper into the tournament.

In thinking up all sorts of creatures fighting each other (monsters vs. aliens, vampires vs. werewolves, etc.), I don’t think I’ve ever imagined a scenario involving dragons vs. aliens. I’m saddened by this fact, because it seems rather logical that such an epic match-up would simply be friggin’ awesome.

Vermithrax Pejorative – You’ve gotta hand it to Vermithrax. She’s a real, scaly badass. She must be the coolest dragon ever put on a movie screen. I can’t think of a dragon I was more in awe with. Maybe that’s just my inner child talking, but all the dragons since have simply paled in comparison.

Tools of the Trade: Fire, death and destruction from above.

Xenomorph Queen – There aren’t too many females (technically, Vermithrax is androgynous, but we’ll count it anyway) in this tournament, so it’s kind of unusual that two would face each other in the same round. However, this is anything but a catfight. The Xenomorph Queen isn’t something to be trifled with. She’s huge! And she’s just as fast and agile as the smaller Xenomorphs too.

Tools of the Trade: Her agility will come in handy, but will it be enough to get by a dragon’s fiery breath delivered by aerial assaults?

Two mischievous creatures go at it here. What they lack in size and brute strength, they make up for in ferociousness. Especially that bunny!

Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog – This rabbit has got spunk. He doesn’t care who you are, how big you may be, or how well equipped. He’ll chew your throat out without a second thought. He goes straight for the jugular and doesn’t let go until his opponent is dead.

Tools of the Trade: Larynx-chewing teeth and a homicidal attitude.

Bat Gremlin – Perhaps not as outright deadly as the Killer Rabbit, the Bat Gremlin has other abilities that may make him hard to kill. Can the rabbit find a way around them?

Tools of the Trade: He has the ability to fly away from the rabbit, and may have an upper hand in the intellect race.

I see no reason to believe the bat gremlin can fly faster than the rabbit (who is quite zippy), and the advantage of the gremlin’s intellect may be hobbled by the fact that its hands are somewhat bound by its wings.

Gotta vote for Vermithrax Pejorative. Vermitrax can breathe fire, and fire has been used successfully on Xenomorphs in all the movies, so what better to fight the Queen than a living flamethrower. Also it will be difficult for the Alien Queen to do anything to a flying foe that can keep out of her range and blast the area with fire.

I really wanted to vote for the Queen, but I think you’re right. The only circumstance that I can think of it working is if the fight started by the Queen being blasted out of the Sulaco’s airlock, falling into the atmosphere and landing on top of Vermithrax. Then I think she would stand a chance. Otherwise, she’s grilled.

WTH about Preditor versus Satan? I had been checkign that poll every couple of days to read the updates. Satan was ALWAYS way ahead of the Preditor.

Looks like quite a few people must have voted in the past couple of days. I think last time I checked, Darkness had 19 votes to Peditor’s 11. It seemed to sit around that for several days. I just checked it now and it was Preditor 56 and Darkness 20. I guess everyone came back from vacation and voted. I’m not miffed, it was just that Darkness had a sizable lead for most of the week.
