Poll: Which Fall 2015 Returning TV Shows Will You Watch?

As far as new TV shows go, this fall has been pretty much a bust so far. This may be the worst pilot season in recent memory. Thankfully, we still have lots of returning favorites to watch instead. Which series are you happy to see come back?

We voted last week for the new shows we wanted to check out. Now let’s vote for the returning shows we plan to watch again this year. Again, these are scripted dramas and comedies only, no Reality shows.

This is a long list, but I’m sure I’ve probably missed something. If so, please vote “Other” and tell us in the Comments.

In alphabetical order, my poor overworked DVR is set to record ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’, ‘American Horror Story’, ‘The Blacklist’, ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’, ‘Castle’, ‘Fargo’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Gotham’, ‘Grimm’, ‘Haven’, ‘iZombie’, ‘The Last Man on Earth’, ‘The League’ and ‘The Walking Dead’.

Way too many but I think the quickest to go could be AHS. I hated last season with a passion so if the first two episodes of this season aren’t amazing I’m done with it.

Unfortunately my free time for tv viewing is rapidly diminishing so I will be recording a majority of these for future reference. As of now the only shows I will definitely be following are: Supernatural, Arrow, Gotham, Castle, and Flash.

  3. I guess this doesn’t really count as a “returning show”, but I just watched the finale movie of CSI. What an unbelievable stinker that was. Holy cow. It’s as if the script was written one sentence at a time. By random Twitter users. Where each tweeter were only allowed to see the previous tweet.

Unfortunately, the ads are not bearing that out. The genius of Fargo (the movie, and season 1) was that they were observing behavior and not necessarily “making fun” of it. The current ads are basically “middle America is stupid, haw.” and that is a real turnoff. Hope I’m wrong. And that series is gonna take a huge hit by not having Billy Bob. He was the beating heart of Season One and the reason to watch.

I actually thought Martin Freeman was the beating heart of the show, but Billy Bob was the blood pumping through it. 🙂
I think they will both be missed.

Did Constantine get canceled? I still haven’t watched it – season 1 is on my DVR

Some of these shows like Sleepy Hollow and Once Upon A Time I thought had been airing for longer than that. Other shows, such as Bob’s Burgers, I am shocked to hear is on Season 6 – I just started watching the show a few months ago.

Also haven’t watched a single episode of Gotham yet – I will probably binge-watch it come November, as well as catch up on Sleepy Hollow and Once Upon A Time.

I don’t think I could imagine television without The Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park.

The Originals is on my DVR, haven’t watched it yet.

I am almost done with Season 1 of The Last Man On Earth. Funny show. I wasn’t expecting it to last more than a few episodes – seemed like a premises that would be difficult to maintain for more than a few episodes, but they seem to have a very good team of writers. Kudos to them, and kudos to them getting renewed.

I feel ashamed that I have not even started on Grimm yet. It’s queued up in Hulu, and has been for years.

Still on season 7 of Doctor Who (and season 2 of the Classic Doctor Who). I love the show, but can only handle it in small doses (I sit down about once every month or two and watch 3-5 episodes in a row)

Grimm is cut-rate Supernatural (still one of the best shows on TV). Gotham is to Batman what Teen Titans is to The Justice League. I, too, am ready to dive into Sleepy Hollow since I killed some other views that were not cutting it. Constantine was almost really good. They cast it well, but they just could not go the extra yard that the character required. Too bad. It was one of those almost right shows….they just didn’t want Constantine to BE Constantine- kinda stupid. And I hear Once Upon A Time has just become a messy Disney commercial/character sandbox that is bad.

Well, I like Teen Titans. 🙂

I think you will like Sleepy Hollow. It is one of those shows that just shouldn’t have worked (stupid premises), but they got a great cast and really good writers.

I am a couple of seasons behind on Once Upon a Time – another show that I sit down with every 6 months and binge watch. I haven’t gotten to where they did the spinoff show yet. Season 1 was fantastic, but it seems as if the show was written to only last one season, and then kept getting renewed. Season 2 was okay, but not as well written as 1. I THINK I am in season 3 now, and it is starting to turn a bit cartoony.

Reason I am behind on most of these shows is because I just have so many things now demanding my time, and my television viewing habbits have changed from 2-3 hours a day 10 years ago to 5-6 hours a week now (I don’t count when I have the news on in the mornings as I am getting ready for work, as I am not really engaged with it – its just background noise).

  5. I forgot to check Gotham. Walking Dead and hopefully Fargo season 2 will be as good as the first. I keep forgetting to watch, but I have every intention of Watching Z Nation, Im already three episodes behind.
I might watch the beginning of American Horror, but I’m not very optimistic. Stamping Lady Gaga all over it doesn’t inspire alot of hope for me.

For me- cancelled shows and no new good ones are a cause for celebration. I have waaaaay too much catch-up to do on existing series. I happily and with great relief pulled the plug on stinkers like The Strain so I can finally give time to ones I haven’t seen yet like Sleepy Hollow. There is too much out there right now, and being able to pare back is a great thing, not a bad thing. Because of new shows to check out over the last few years and movie output doubling over the last few years- there are shows I consider my favorites that I have not watched in two seasons that are quietly waiting in blu ray. Now I can finally get back to them. It is always a pleasure to watch a new show and go “whew. It’s crap. Good. Take that off the list.”
