“Shield Practice”

I expect that only a small handful of readers will fully understand and appreciate the magnitude of the awesomeness that I’m about to reveal after the page break in this post. I’m OK with that. The rest of you can puzzle over it and wonder if I’ve lost my mind. But for that small handful… please enjoy today’s Action Figure Theater production of: “Shield Practice.”

Very cute. I love that movie too. Lynch got so much right in a way that most directors would never have come close, but because of his own pecularities and studio intervention he missed on the most important element of the story, Fremen were supposed to be Heroically romantic, Lawrence of Arabia-ish, and that he did not get right.

That novel has just become more and more prophetic, or precient, as time has gone bye. What is hard for people to wrap their heads around is that we are the Empire and Maud Dib is a precursor for Osama Bin Ladin. Yikes.

I am just wondering where these awesome action figures came from. Were action figures made for Dune, and did someone actually remove tehm from their original packaging? The horror! But the detail on these just seems to be too good to be an early 80s action figure.
