‘The Walking Dead’ 2.13 Recap: “This Isn’t a Democracy Anymore!”

‘The Walking Dead’ 2.13 Recap: “This Isn’t a Democracy Anymore!”

The farm was doomed to fail. Instead of constructing defenses and planning for an attack, the ‘Walking Dead’ group got mired in Dale’s moralistic ramblings, Rick’s see-sawing, and Shane’s head-rubbing. It took just one errant helicopter to put the idyllic Farm Base on top of the zombie menu.

‘The Walking Dead’ 2.11 Recap: “The Group Is Broken”

‘The Walking Dead’ 2.11 Recap: “The Group Is Broken”

The Kid Situation has come to a head. Do they kill him, or do they follow Dale’s lead and preserve their humanity by letting the kid live? This really shouldn’t be the ‘Walking Dead’ group’s biggest worry, though. Their alarming state of complacency is putting more lives in danger than a young guy who may or may not bring his buddies back to the farm.

‘The Walking Dead’ 2.10 Recap: “You Can’t Just Be the Good Guy and Expect to Live”

‘The Walking Dead’ 2.10 Recap: “You Can’t Just Be the Good Guy and Expect to Live”

Bucking the trend of opening each ‘Walking Dead’ episode directly where the last one left off, ’18 Miles Out’ pulls a fast one by launching us right into the middle of an undead nightmare as Shane fends off famished Walkers from inside a school bus, Rick runs from a few more, and their new tied-up friend slinks along on the ground trying desperately to reach an abandoned knife.

‘The Walking Dead’ 2.09 Recap: “Who the Hell Is That?”

‘The Walking Dead’ 2.09 Recap: “Who the Hell Is That?”

This week’s episode of ‘The Walking Dead’ begins where we left off, but you wouldn’t be able to tell by the daylight. The last episode ended with Rick dispatching two real live humans with copious amounts of light streaming in through the bar windows, but at the start of this episode, right after the gunfire, darkness has descended on the town in mere seconds. Darkness comes fast in Zombieland, I guess.

Now that ‘The Walking Dead’ is back on the air, we have one more group of characters to cover in our Character Guide for the show. As we watch new episodes, let’s make some guesses as to who will be the first (and second, and third, etc.) person to become zombie chow.

‘The Walking Dead’ 2.08 Recap: “There’s No Hope”

Rick versus Shane, Shane versus Dale, Hershel versus Rick, Rick versus unknown but hostile living people, Lori versus her own stupidity, and hope versus no hope. It’s a contentious time on the first new episode of ‘The Walking Dead’ back from its hiatus.

‘Walking Dead’ Character Guide: The Camp

‘Walking Dead’ Character Guide: The Camp

Back when ‘The Walking Dead’ started its two-and-a-half-month hiatus, I put together a Character Guide for the Grimes family. We talked about each character’s chances of survival, and how they might die. With the show starting up again on Sunday, I’d like to take a look at other members of the cast, starting with the rest of the camp.

‘Justified’ 3.01 Recap: “Not Much Call for Cowboys These Days”

‘Justified’ 3.01 Recap: “Not Much Call for Cowboys These Days”

‘Justified’ returned to kick off its third season last week. Even though the show has never been a significant ratings hit, the FX network has had enough faith to keep it on the air this long. That’s a good thing for fans, because the last season left a number of unresolved storylines hanging.
