Contest: Win ‘The BoxTrolls’ on Blu-ray!

That’s right, if you can believe it, we have two contests for our readers this week! While we’re busy tabulating the results of our ‘Lucy’ giveaway, you have another chance to win a free Blu-ray. It’s an embarrassment of riches around here. This time, our prize is Laika’s Oscar-nominated, stop-motion animated family film ‘The BoxTrolls’. Enter today!

To win a copy of the (2D version only) Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD Combo Pack, all you have to do is participate in our photo caption contest by giving us a funny or clever caption for the following image. Click to enlarge:

Insert witty caption here

For example: “Talk about hands-on directing! Amirite?”

We have three copies of the Blu-ray to give away. The winners will be chosen at our own subjective discretion based on whichever responses we enjoy the most. Entries are limited to 10 per person. That should give you plenty of opportunity to craft a good submission, but will also help us to avoid any potential appearance of awarding prizes based on volume rather than quality. (Please heed this limit. You will be taken out of consideration if you submit more than 10 entries.) All entries must be submitted in the Comments section of this blog post. Please do not attempt to email them to me.

This contest is only open to entrants from the domestic United States. We will not ship internationally (whether you’re a U.S. citizen or not). Employees of High-Def Digest or Internet Brands and their families are not eligible. Standard contest rules and conditions apply. People who have won any of our previous contests within the past one year are also not eligible to win, but may get Honorable Mentions.

The deadline for entry is end-of-day on Sunday, January 25th. The winners will be announced next week. Good luck!

“Guys… this is the 137th take… and still you haven’t made your eyes pop the way I wanted… Get it done right this time, or else, I’ll drop this onto your heads and find replacements.”

“Dude, are we in New York?”
    “No… why?”
“Oh… I thought I just saw the shadow of the Statue of Libery now…”

“Will we be getting a sequel, bud?”
“Not sure… but need to find a new name for a sequel if it happens? ‘Boxtrolls 2 ‘ sounds kinda lame…”
“What about ‘Troll 2 In A Box’ “?
    “Okay… ‘Boxtrolls 2’ it is..,”

  4. Tall troll- “Yeah if this movie pans out, I’m hoping to land a gig in a Burton or Selick picture and leave these no names behind.”
Short troll- ” I just want to bang Coraline.”

  5. Trolls- “Why do we have a fish and a woman’s shoe stamped on our chests? Couldn’t we get superhero emblems instead?”
“THE MAN”- “For the sequel we landed a contract with StarKist and Prada. They will reward us handsomely for product placement. Besides, Marvel was too stingy and DC’s too wishy washy.”

  6. So how do I spell “Lunch Time” again using mirror signals?

Seriously? With as big a budget as we have and we could not have spent 39 cents more for better mirror brackets.
