HD Recap: “I Thought You Were Exactly Awesome”
NBC Thursday was in fine shape this week, assuming that you don’t count ‘Outsourced.’ As of this week, I definitely don’t.

Ah, nostalgia. It’s the feeling that drives so many of my purchases. It’s one of the reasons I listen to chiptunes and am driven to buy old games every chance I get. It’s the reason I have a fantastic piece of ‘Golden Axe’ inspired artwork on my wall. It’s also the only possible reason to re-watch some of those “classic” Saturday morning cartoons.
There’s an earthquake on ‘Modern Family’ this week, and some strange life lessons to follow it up.
I love the idea of companies like Panasonic getting back into gaming. (Remember the 3DO?) But this really isn’t the way to do it.
At first I was happy that not much is ending its Netflix stay this week. Then I read the list and realized that while the quantity may be low, the quality is higher than usual. We’re losing some good stuff this week, so get on it!
That’s right, it’s another big week for videogames. We’ve got a few big releases, an expansion for ‘Left 4 Dead 2,’ the downloadable game ‘Comic Jumper,’ and of course, ‘NBA Jam’ for the Wii.
It’s the last ‘Halo’ game to be made by Bungie, and the studio has left some big shoes to fill. Does ‘Halo: Reach’ live up to the hype?
Sure, Michael Bay may have stolen your childhood with those dreadful ‘Transformers‘ movies of his, but that doesn’t mean you have to lie there and take it.
Last Thursday’s NBC comedy lineup had some ups and downs, but this week is a bit more consistent. Even ‘The Office’ seems to be back on track. There isn’t anything tremendously good going on, but there isn’t anything that strikes me as awful either. Okay, there’s one show that absolutely failed on all levels, but we’ll get to that shortly.
With the release of ‘Get Him to the Greek‘ this week, it’s funny to think back to a time when the movie’s producer Judd Apatow was an underappreciated television writer on two equally underappreciated shows. If you’re a fan of Apatow or any of his regular cast members, you really owe it to yourself to check out both ‘Undeclared’ and ‘Freaks and Geeks.’
