Best Videogames of 2011: ‘The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’

Best Videogames of 2011: ‘The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’

I’ve been trying to find a good approach to making some sort of list to honor the best videogames of 2011. Sadly, I’m only one man and haven’t been able to play every single game of the year. I’d have to leave so many great titles out simply because I didn’t get a chance to try them. Instead, I’ll highlight the best that I’ve personally played on an individual basis. First up: ‘Skyrim’.

The Netflix Stream: Week of January 1st, 2011

The new year starts off well for Netflix fans. We’re losing the Bond movies (we didn’t have ‘Casino Royale’ in the first place, so it’s not that big a loss), but we’re gaining so much in return. Comedy, drama, and even a true classic.

The Netflix Stream: Week of December 25th, 2011

Each new month brings a huge shift in Netflix content, and a new year means even bigger changes. This week, we get a look at everything that’s being taken away. Not until next week will we see the big list of what’s new. Fortunately, there are a few new additions that will make some folks very happy.

Videogame Releases: Week of December 25th, 2011

One PSN/XBLA title comes out this week and that’s it. The videogame looks a bit like ‘Zombies Ate My Neighbors’, which is cool, but I haven’t been impressed with what I’ve seen from ‘All Zombies Must Die‘. Aside from that, there isn’t much happening. So what the hell, let’s just talk about what we got for Christmas.

The Netflix Stream: Week of December 18th, 2011

There’s a lot of movement in the Netflix stream this week. Most of that seems to be children’s TV shows or movies that just aren’t worth mentioning, but a few stand out.

Videogame Releases: Week of December 18th, 2011

After a really exciting November, December feels like a real bummer. There were no new videogames worth writing about last week. This week would be the same if not for one of the biggest MMO launches in quite some time.

The Netflix Stream: Week of December 11th, 2011

Ack! Netflix loses more ‘MST3K’ this week, and that’s a hard thing to deal with. On the plus side, We’ve got plenty of crappy Christmas specials to fill out the season, and a pretty important documentary to boot.

The Netflix Stream: Week of December 4th, 2011

To quote the late, great Stone Cold Steve Austin: “Oh hell yeah!” We lose nothing from the Netflix stream this week. Well, to be entirely accurate, we lose a dozen movies that aren’t worth mentioning, unless you really want to see the sequel to that ABC Family Christmas movie that stars Jenny McCarthy as Santa’s daughter. You don’t. Also, I’m aware that Stone Cold isn’t dead, but I really like the way “late, great” sounds in that first sentence, so it stays as is.

I’ve been playing videogames for 25 years and reading about them for 23. I’ve been obsessed with them for most of my life, and I honestly didn’t think I could learn anything new. How wrong I was!

Videogame Releases: Week of December 4th, 2011

Only one videogame is really worth talking about this week. Normally, I’d put in some recommendations of my own. The truth is, I’m out of cool games to recommend outside of the stuff you already know about, like ‘Skyrim’. Instead, I’ll just make fun of some shovelware.
